Intersectionality is an expansive lens that allows one to analyze how different identities have unique privileges and disadvantages while recognizing that these identities (e.g. “woman” and “black”) do not exist independently of each other, and that each informs the others, often creating a complex convergence of oppression. Misogynoir is misogyny that is specifically aimed towards black women.
